Amanda Bock5 StarI called and spoke with Matt. He was honest with me about the best route to go to get my property corners marked. He went out of his way to explain the process to me and helped me save some money!Tuesday 14th July 2020
Katie Robinson1 StarWords cannot describe how terrible of a job this survey company has done. We signed a very explicit contract with them for $1500 to complete a boundary survey. The terms of the contract were that the project would begin 7/1/2020 and would be completed within 15 days. It is now 8/4/2020, and the boundary survey is not complete.
Measurements were taken by a representative in early July, and we were told we would get our results soon. Then we heard nothing for multiple weeks. Then, last week we received an email with what was indicated to be the boundary survey's results (well past the contract's finish date).
Today, over a month after the start date of the "15 day project", a second surveyor arrived on our property a little after 8:00 AM while we were still asleep. No notifications were given that he was coming, or that he arrived, and he did not ring the doorbell. We watched the whole event unfold on our 6 security cameras as he walked past not one but two NO TRESPASSING signs, unlatched the chained gate to our backyard, and then opened the 6 foot latched and partially padlocked gate (the locking section was through the latch, but the numbers hadn't been scrambled) to our pasture full of expensive and beloved show goats and chickens worth thousands of dollars. He opened the gate, let all of the goats into the backyard, then locked them out of the pasture and proceeded to wander to the back of our property to do the fence survey. We have an open dog door and two large breed dogs who will kill livestock. The dogs finally heard the commotion and ran out of the dog door and tried to kill the goats, three of which were brand new babies (10 lbs and 30 lbs). It appears that some were bitten but fortunately my husband heard the screaming and ran downstairs and captured the dogs and locked them inside. We are so fortunate he woke up and heard what was going on, or all my beloved pets would have been slaughtered because of this company's negligence. And when the employee was confronted by my husband, he was not even wearing a mask, so now we fear we could have been exposed to COVID by a trespasser on our own property.
The icing on the cake was that the corners being marked today (which should have been marked weeks ago before results were sent) were marked IN THE COMPLETELY WRONG PLACE. The company didn't notice the mistakes -- WE did!! We spent thousands of our hard earned dollars to make sure our fencing was put in the proper place, and the boundary survey was feet off with the corners in the middle of our poor neighbor's driveway.
My husband called in and respectfully explained what had happened and that the corners were nowhere near the boundaries that had been previously measured and emailed out. After being told that the contract didn't matter and the company had "implied consent" to come onto the company at any point without warning, and that none of the invalid survey would be refunded, I took the phone and clarified that we would be filing trespassing charges with the police as well as taking the company to small claims court if the boundaries are not fixed today and we are not refunded in full for the multiple contract violations that have taken place, as well as the failure to even provide accurate surveying.
We are dreading the miserable process of going to court over a costly boundary survey that we paid top dollar for in order to make sure we were fair to our neighbors. It will take up our limited free time and money, but to think that I almost lost all of my beloved animals due to this companies' negligence AND they were unwilling to make it right confirms to me that I need to do this in order to protect future clients. The only saving grace is that we haven't paid tens of thousands of dollars to put in the fence on the wildly incorrect property line this company marked.
Edit: The refund was not offered before this review was posted and we have not yet received it. Also, it was the least you could do since you NEVER delivered an accurate boundary survey and we have to have it redone somewhere reputable.Wednesday 5th August 2020
